We discuss the technology, new and old, that allows us to design and build machines that are part of our everyday lives. Children are encouraged to use their imagination when building our equipment. They are immersed in technology that allows us to design simple machines. They are taught that complex machines are just many simple machines designed to work together.
Below are just a couple of examples of the Design and Technology activities that we bring out to schools.
- Create patterns on our Magnet Art Boards. Use the patterns and gravity to to design working machines similar to the action of a pinball machine or marble run.
- Disassemble our STEM train. Look at the design and use of simple machines. See how bearings, gears, sprockets and chains are designed to work together to create a working machine.
Prices
School Groups and Holiday Programs:
- $13.50 per child plus GST
Minimum Charge:
- 1 Session- $650 plus GST
- 2 Sessions- $900 plus GST
Please note: A $1.00 per child travel surcharge may apply depending on your school’s location.
Session Duration:
Generally a session runs for two hours. A minimum of 1 ½ hours per session is required.
Session Times:
- 9:00 am – 11 am
- 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
- 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm (small groups only)
Note: These times can be varied to suit schools requirements.
