Taskworks Secondary School incursions are generally science and maths based. We also offer great teamwork activities for transition and a change for students to integrate with one another.
We run specialised incursions for schools running HPV programmes, offering our engineering and fabrication knowledge to students and teachers alike. We focus on current engineering and science issues and needs, and look at how science and technology helps to meet those needs and solve issues.
Below are just a couple of examples of the Secondary School activities we bring out to schools
- Solve our complex floor puzzles. Work with teammates and teachers to try these increasingly difficult puzzles.
- Pull our STEM Train apart and see its internal workings and physically feel how gearing affects the trains operation. Use multiplication and division and ratios to workout the trains speed for its gears an wheels.
- Wire low voltage batteries and motors to enable our STEM Train to operate. See how a DC motor runs in the opposite direction when wired in a different way.
- Compete with one another on our Stomp-A-Stump game. Look at the pneumatics and control systems used to operate and control the game. Look in detail at the mechanisms used and how they work and have great fun competing with one another.
